Ahead of the derby against Saint-Étienne, OL Lyonnes organized a women’s interclub football tournament at its Academy, bringing together teams from its network of women’s football clubs.s féminins.
Held before the derby against Saint-Étienne, the tournament took place across the four pitches of the OL Lyonnes Academy and brought together 20 teams, representing more than 400 young players under the age of 15 from several regions: Rhône, Ain, Isère, Saône-et-Loire, Savoie, Drôme-Ardèche, and Côte-d’Or.
Beyond the sporting competition, the event aimed to support the development of women’s football, strengthen connections between clubs, and provide young licensed players with a collective and friendly experience in a professional environment. The tournament was supported by our official partner Orange, fully committed alongside us to promoting women’s football and supporting young players through sporting and educational initiatives.
Alongside the matches, each team took part in educational and fun workshops led by Orange, particularly focusing on raising awareness about cyberbullying and the dangers of the digital world. These workshops gave the young players an opportunity to reflect and exchange ideas, helping them better understand the challenges linked to everyday digital usage.
An OL Lyonnes competition was also organized during the morning, giving participants the chance to win several OL Lyonnes-themed prizes. To round off this wonderful day, all teams, staff members, coaches, and referees were invited to Groupama Stadium to attend the derby against Saint-Étienne, extending a day dedicated to women’s football and shared experiences.
