OL Lyonnes hosted the association Colosse aux pieds d’argile this week for an awareness-raising intervention on the subject of sexual violence in sport.
As part of its commitment to the well-being and protection of athletes, the Colosse aux pieds d’argile (Clay-Footed Colossus) association was founded in 2013 by Sébastien Boueilh, a former rugby player who was himself a victim of abuse as a teenager.
The association intervened to open a dialogue on essential, yet still too often taboo, topics. Through concrete discussions, personal accounts, and role-playing exercises, the speakers emphasized the importance of vigilance, respect, and collective responsibility within a team.
This meeting allowed the Lyon players to address sensitive subjects in a supportive environment, fostering awareness and encouraging open discussion. The key messages conveyed by Colosse aux pieds d’argile focused on recognizing risky situations, appropriate behaviors, and the existing support systems available for victims.
With this initiative, OL Lyonnes reaffirms its commitment to taking action beyond the field, placing people at the heart of its sporting project. A strong approach, which is part of a comprehensive policy of prevention and responsibility, essential to building a healthy and safe environment for all its licensees.
