Olympique Lyonnais Féminin is delighted to announce the signing of Brazilian international defender Tarciane Karen dos Santos de Lima on a four-and-a-half-year contract, until June 30, 2029.
The Rio de Janeiro native joins Joe Montemurro’s squad from the Houston Dash in Texas. A versatile center-back, Tarciane chose OL Women and the Arkema Première Ligue to continue her development at the highest level.
The Brazilian returns to France a few months after playing in the final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games against the United States, where she won a silver medal with her national team.
At just 21 years old, her solid defensive performances, both with her former club and the Brazilian national team, have earned her a place among the six players in the American league nominated for the prestigious 2024 Ballon d’Or.
The arrival of the center-back concludes Lyon’s winter transfer window after the signing of Swedish player Elma Junttila Nelhage and the loan deals for Liana Joseph, Maeline Mendy, and Wassa Sangare.
This transfer, which also comes after Selma Bacha’s contract extension, is part of the club’s ambitious strategy of long-term investment.
