OL Lyon is delighted to announce the contract extension of its French international defender, Alice Sombath, for another season, until June 30, 2027.
Having joined the Academy at the age of 16, Alice has gradually established herself within the first team, season after season, progressing from promising young player to experienced veteran. Versatile on the pitch, the center-back by training is distinguished by her speed and vision, and can even be used as a right-back.
Now 22 years old, Alice Sombath has made a total of 92 appearances in all competitions for the club. Since the start of this season, she has played 13 matches, 10 of them as a starter.
The French international, who participated in Euro 2025 this summer, reached a new milestone last night by wearing the captain’s armband for the first time in Lyon’s match against Lens (a 1-0 victory).
Five years after signing her first professional contract with the club, OL Lyon is delighted with Alice’s progress in the Lyon jersey. This new contract extension reflects the club’s commitment to continuing to support Alice’s development at the highest level and hopes to achieve, alongside her and all her teammates, the objectives set for the coming seasons.
