OL Lyonnes announces the arrival of German goalkeeper, U23 international, Maria Luisa Grohs for one season, until June 30, 2027.
Originally from Münster, “Mala” first trained with a boys’ team before joining Bochum’s women’s team at the age of 15. In 2019, she joined Bayern Munich’s reserve team, where she impressed in the German second division, playing 24 matches without conceding a goal. Her performances caught the eye of the first team, with whom she made her Frauen-Bundesliga debut in April 2021.
During the 2022-2023 season, the German became Bayern Munich’s starting goalkeeper and played her first Women’s Champions League matches. Maria Luisa gradually established herself in the team, contributing to one of the club’s most dominant periods on the national stage. In five seasons with Bayern Munich, the young goalkeeper has built an impressive record, including five German league titles (2021, 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026), two German Cups (2025 and 2026), and two German Super Cups (2024 and 2025).
At 24, “Mala” is the first signing of the 2026-2027 season. The German player has chosen the OL Lyonnes project to continue her development at the highest level and will join her new Lyon teammates when training resumes on July 27.
