OL Lyonnes is proud to announce the contract extension of its young striker, Liana Joseph, for two additional seasons, until June 30, 2029.
A promising young player from the 2006 generation, Liana Joseph progressed through all the stages of the Academy’s training program before confirming her potential by signing her first professional contract at the age of 16. A few months later, in September 2023, she made her debut in the Arkema Première Ligue and won her first French league title with OL Lyonnes at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
On loan last season to Racing Club de Strasbourg, the striker delivered some impressive performances and notably secured the club’s survival in the top flight by scoring the winning goal on the final day of the 2024/2025 season.
At just 19 years old, the striker is also described as a great prospect for French football. Often playing above her age group in youth categories, the French U20 international won the U17 European Championship in 2023. A finalist at the U19 European Championship this summer, Liana distinguished herself once again by finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with four goals.
This new contract extension between OL Lyonnes and Liana demonstrates the mutual trust between the club and the player. Unfortunately sidelined due to injury, the young striker had enjoyed a very successful start to the season under Jonatan Giráldez. The club continues to support Liana in her rehabilitation, confident that she will return to the pitch and her best form in the coming months.
