Lyon faced Manchester United for the first time in European competition, adding a special dimension to this crucial encounter.
The match quickly found its rhythm. In the 10th minute, Melchie Dumornay did excellent work on the right flank before laying the ball back to Tarciane. Perfectly set up by a cross from Kadidiatou Diani, she met the ball with precision to score the third goal of the evening (90′, 0-3).
Thanks to this convincing victory in Manchester, Lyon have moved a step closer to direct qualification for the next round of the competition. They will now approach their next UEFA Women’s Champions League match at home against Atlético de Madrid with the opportunity to definitively secure their place in the next round without having to go through the playoffs.
