Ahead of the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final on Thursday, April 2 at Groupama Stadium, OL Lyonnes will launch the third chapter of its “Sport & Women’s Health” conference series, with a conference dedicated to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries in female athletes.
A major topic in elite sport, at the heart of performance, prevention, and return to play. Doctors, experts, coaches, and athletes will share their perspectives and experiences to better understand, prevent, and manage these injuries, which particularly affect women. The conference will feature a distinguished guest speaker: Dr Bertrand SONNERY-COTTET, an internationally renowned orthopedic surgeon who has operated on numerous male and female athletes. A recognized expert in knee injury treatment and return-to-performance protocols, he will share his expertise and advice to help athletes, coaches, and sports enthusiasts better understand and prevent this injury.
The event is aimed at sports physicians, surgeons, physiotherapists, rehabilitation professionals, and medical staffs from professional clubs, while also remaining educational and open to the general public. In total, nearly 400 attendees are expected.
Outstanding female athletes will also share their experiences regarding injury management and returning to competition, including Ada HEGERBERG, Marie-Antoinette KATOTO, Amel MAJRI (football), and Loïs BOISSON (tennis).
