Summary
After an initial German opportunity, Jule Brand won her one-on-one to deliver a perfect pass to Liana Joseph, who beat the Frankfurt goalkeeper (1-0, 3′). The Eagles quickly equalized thanks to good work from Nicole Anyomi to Laura Freigang. But Lyon responded with composure, thanks to a magnificent pass from Inès Benyahia to Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who slotted the ball past Lina Altenburg. A superb team effort to take a 2-1 lead (16′). Kadidiatou Diani then joined the party, beating her defenders and firing a powerful shot from a tight angle to make it 3-1 (26′)! Eintracht Frankfurt’s second goal (3-2, 38′) came just before halftime following a misunderstanding after a refereeing decision. After the break, Selma Bacha’s first touch upon returning to the pitch was symbolically a decisive assist from a corner. The Lyon player perfectly set up Elma Junttila Nelhage, who finished with a magnificent header (4-2, 60′). Lyon thus confirmed the successful implementation of Jonatan Giráldez‘s playing principles, concluding their preseason with a perfect record (5 friendly wins against Servette, Nuremberg, London City Lionesses, Bayern Munich, and Eintracht Frankfurt).

The Lyon women’s training camp in Herzogenaurauch concludes, and they depart Germany this Saturday. They will return to Lyon for final preparations before their clash against Marseille (Sunday, September 7, 5:30 pm at Groupama Stadium) for the opening matchday of the Arkema Première Ligue.
