With four wins in four league matches, Jonatan Giráldez’s players approached this game determined to maintain their perfect record and consolidate their top spot before the first international break of the season.
OL Lyonnes started the match perfectly against Nantes, immediately imposing their rhythm and control. In the 6th minute, Korbin Schrader opened the scoring with a sumptuous strike into the top corner, after beating the Nantes defense with a superb dribble (1-0, 6′).
Our Lyonnes continued their momentum and, five minutes later, Melchie Dumornay found Kadidiatou Diani with a pinpoint cross. The Lyon player headed the ball back to Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who tapped the ball in with the outside of her foot to score the second goal of the match (2-0, 11′). As impactful as ever, Korbin Schrader distinguished herself again in the 23rd minute, unleashing a powerful shot that was well saved by the Nantes goalkeeper. Lyon’s pressure remained constant and eventually paid off. In the 26th minute, Wendie Renard converted a penalty (3-0, 26′). Before the break, the team continued their collective display. The unstoppable Korbin Schrader delivered a perfect assist to Tabitha Chawinga, who finished with composure (4-0, 36′). A one-sided first half, in which Jonatan Giráldez’s players shone with their efficiency and quality of play.

Upon returning from the locker room, FC Nantes managed to reduce the deficit in the 50th minute (4-1, 50′). Lyon’s response was swift. In the 57th minute, Tabitha Chawinga beat her marker on the left wing before delivering a perfect cross for Kadidiatou Diani, who easily finished the ball off (5-1, 57′). In the dying moments of the match, from a set piece, Tarciane scored the final goal, sealing the victory for our Red and Blue (6-1, 89′).
