The Lyonnes put on a dominant performance (7-1) against Paris FC, with two players scoring two goals each and another scoring a hat trick. They put on a show at Groupama Stadium on the second matchday of the Arkema Première Ligue.

Summary
As part of the partnership between Lyon 1 University, the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and OL Lyonnes, a student from the university kicked off the match. From the very start, the Lyonnes maintained possession and controlled the play. Fifteen minutes into the game, Jule Brand found Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who headed the ball to Tarciane, but she was unable to beat the opposing goalkeeper. Lily Yohannes, who had been very active in midfield since the start of the match, sent a through ball to Marie-Antoinette Katoto, who beat the opposing goalkeeper but couldn’t find the net from a tight angle. Shortly before halftime, Selma Bacha took a corner kick toward Lily Yohannes at the near post: her cross-goal header was parried by the opposing goalkeeper, who saw Marie-Antoinette Katoto rush in to knock the ball into the back of the net (1-0, 41′). Just four minutes later, following a magnificent team play that started in the back, Ingrid Engen played a deep ball to Jule Brand, who delivered a first-time cross toward Melchie Dumornay. Back on the field after halftime, our Lyonnes set a fast pace, maintaining possession near the opponent’s box. At the hour mark, Salma Paralluelo broke through the Parisian defense, entered the box, and sent in a cross that Marie-Antoinette Katoto finished with a superb Madjer at the near post (3-0, 60′). Just four minutes later, Ada Hegerberg, who had come on as a substitute during the previous play, put her talent to work for the team: off a cross from Melchie Dumornay, she scored the fourth goal of the match (4-0, 64′). During a Paris attack, Clara Mateo struck the crossbar and narrowed the gap (4-1, 70′). Immediately after the restart, our Lyon players were caught off guard, and Mala Grohs made a decisive save to prevent Paris FC from closing the gap further. Our goalkeeper’s quick restart allowed Lyon to counterattack, and the duo that had previously made the difference shone once again: Melchie Dumornay crossed to Ada Hegerberg, who scored her second goal of the match with a magnificent volley (5-1, 71′). The substitutions made by Jonatan Giráldez paid off, particularly with the penalty earned by Julie Swierot, which Melchie Dumornay converted by sending the opposing goalkeeper the wrong way (6-1, 76′). In the very final moments of the game, Ada Hegerberg earned the Player of the Match award by scoring yet another goal. OL Lyonnes secured a convincing victory in their first home game against Paris FC.

We faced a very good team, but we quickly figured out how to attack, create space, and generate chances.
