Having already won the first leg, the French women’s national team secured third place in the Nations League after a hard-fought draw against Sweden (2-2), winning 3-2 on aggregate. Kadidiatou Diani, starting the match, capped off her year in style by providing an assist for the opening goal. Alice Sombath came on as a substitute during extra time. Elma Nelhage, also a starter, was substituted shortly after France’s second goal.
Germany – Brand
After a draw against Spain in the first leg of the Nations League, Jule Brand and her teammates could not keep up in this return match and lost 3-0. Starting in the game, our German player saw her team finish in second place in this competition.
Netherlands – Damaris
The Dutch team Damaris faced South Korea in their final international match of the year. Our Lyon player started the game, and the Netherlands won 5-0.
Canada – Lawrence
Ashley Lawrence’s Canadian team lost again to the Japanese in the second leg, with a score of 1-0. Our Lyon player only came on as a substitute 12 minutes before the end of the match.
Brasil – Tarciane
The Seleção de Tarciane faced Portugal in their final friendly match of the year. The Brazilians won convincingly, 5-0. Starting the match, our Lyon player contributed to this impressive victory.
Chili – Endler
The Chilean women’s national team defeated Paraguay 1-0 in the CONMEBOL Nations League. Christiane Endler capped off the year in style with her return to the national team.
Australia – Micah
The Matildas concluded their two-legged tie against New Zealand with a 2-0 victory after their resounding 6-0 win in the first leg. Teagan Micah kept a clean sheet to cap off his 2025 campaign with the national team.
