Summary

From the opening moments, the Lyonnes looked to impose their rhythm and create early attacking danger. In the 17th minute, Vicki Becho tested the Strasbourg goalkeeper with a first shot that was well saved. From the rebound, Inès Benyahia tried her luck, but her strike crashed against the crossbar.

Despite this first chance, it was Strasbourg who struck first. In the 21st minute, Bruna Lourenço gave the visitors the lead by opening the scoring (21′, 1-0).

The Lyonnes quickly found the resources to respond. In the 25th minute, they equalised through a well-worked team move. After a precise pass from Sofie Svava, Korbin Shrader controlled the ball and finished with composure to bring both sides level (25′, 1-1).

Thanks to this quick reaction, the Lyon players managed to get back into the game and stay on track despite a disrupted start.

After the break, OL Lyonnes tried to take control of the match. In the 53rd minute, Korbin Shrader came close with a powerful strike that was tipped away by the Strasbourg goalkeeper. Five minutes later, Lily Yohannes recovered a ball before passing it to Vicki Becho down the right flank. At full speed, the Lyon winger delivered a dangerous cross towards Marie-Antoinette Katoto, but the opposition defence intervened just in time.

As the Lyonnes continued to push forward, Strasbourg regained the lead in the 76th minute with a second goal. Once again, however, the Lyon players showed great resilience in response (76′, 2-1).

In the 81st minute, after a quick one-two between Ada Hegerberg and Lily Yohannes, the American midfielder took her chance and found the back of the net to bring the Lyonnes level once more (81′, 2-2).

Moments later, in the 82nd minute, Maïssa Fathallah came very close to giving Lyon the win, but her effort was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.

After a hard-fought contest, OL Lyonnes shared the points with Strasbourg. Attention now turns to next Thursday’s UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Wolfsburg at the Groupama Stadium.
