As part of the “September in Gold” campaign, a month dedicated to raising awareness and mobilizing against pediatric cancers, several OL Lyon women’s team players visited the Léon Bérard Center, a leading cancer treatment and research institution in Lyon.
The visit took place at the IHOPe, the unit dedicated to pediatric cancers, where young patients and their families were present for a day focused on Adapted Physical Activity. The aim of this meeting was to offer some comfort, share some heartwarming moments, and highlight the hospital’s work in the fight against this disease.
Lyon players Selma Bacha, who has a particular connection to the institution, Marie-Antoinette Katoto, and Kadidiatou Diani were among those who attended. The program included conversations with the children, shared smiles, and showing their support for all the medical teams working tirelessly in this battle.
With this gesture, the players wished to affirm their commitment to those working to advance research and improve the care of young patients. This action perfectly illustrates the values of solidarity and community that are so important to the club.
