Vincent Ponsot and Jonatan Giráldez spoke about the club’s goals for the upcoming 2026–27 season.

“We’re feeling confident about the season. We have the coach we need to achieve our goals. Starting this new season with the same coaching staff will save us valuable time and give us a great deal of confidence.
We’ve also built a high-quality roster this summer that will allow us to be competitive on all fronts. We’re still guided by the same philosophy: the pursuit of balance. A balance between youth and experience, but also a balance between talent from our academy—which plays a central role in our project—and outside recruits who bring real added value. This year, our roster will include more than ten players who came up through the club’s youth system.
When it comes to our athletic goals, we always aim for the highest level. But beyond trophies, we’ll be paying close attention to the quality of our play. Our goal is to consistently perform at that level, starting right from the beginning of the season. We have everything we need to do a great job.
Overall, we have a mission: to advance women’s football, both in France and internationally. The indicators are positive across the board. For example, we’ve signed four new partnerships and are extending long-standing ones, which proves that companies and brands have full confidence in us.
Further proof of our progress: three of our four preseason matches will be broadcast on La Chaîne L’Équipe, which is a first for us. In addition, Canal+ will produce a documentary series on OL Lyonnes this year. We are extremely pleased with all these developments.”

“I’m very excited to kick off this second season. The first season was good, but it wasn’t perfect since we didn’t win every title.
For me, the most important thing is to keep improving our level of play. This second season is easier for me: I know the team, which also makes it easier to integrate our new players.
Our mindset is clear: to improve our level of play and maintain excellence in every game. Winning or simply getting the three points isn’t enough. What matters most is the way we play.
It was important to bring in players with different skill sets. They all have what it takes to adapt during games. Salma (Paralluelo) can play any attacking position, which makes her a very interesting prospect. Caroline (Weir) is an exceptional player with the ability to score a lot of goals. As for Mala (Grohs), she’s an interesting player with a lot of experience. Wassa (Sangaré) and Julie (Swierot) have returned from their loan stints with us and bring strong skills to the team.”
