“A defeat is hard to accept, but first we have to congratulate Barça, who were better than us tonight. Then we have to process it. It’s the kind of defeat where the scoreline is a bit harsh compared to the reality of the game. I think we had a very good first half. We managed to prevent Barça from playing. But in the second half, Barça were better and very efficient. So they deserved their victory, quite simply.
For the past month and a half, I think the team has shown some very good things collectively, especially since the second leg against Wolfsburg. Arsenal is a great team, and we qualified with ease, demonstrating real collective quality. Barça is still a step above, but I’m convinced this group will continue to improve and will be ready next year. We’ll come back stronger, I’m sure of it.
We have a new coach, a new staff, nine new players, and a lot of young players. Despite everything, compared to two years ago, I think we were much closer to them. We need to give this coach, his staff, and the players time to progress together. In our first year, we’ve already reached the Champions League final, we’ve won two league titles and two cups. We have a third title to go for next Friday at home, and I hope the fans will be there. I want to stay positive.

“The team managed to control the game in the first half, with possession and chances. I think the forwards made the difference. Pajor and Paralluelo were exceptional. I absolutely wanted this title, and now I think we lacked something to achieve it collectively. There’s still one match left, and we still have a title to go for, but we need to recover mentally because, of course, this hurts. There’s a lot of disappointment and frustration, but that’s football. We have to learn and bounce back. A career is never linear, a season is never linear. This is a valuable experience for this group. When you have the opportunity to reach the final, you can’t let that kind of chance slip away, but that’s life, that’s how it is, we have to work hard.”

“They were more efficient, more clinical, and I think the second goal really hurt us. I think in the first half, we followed the coach’s instructions well. Then, inevitably, as fatigue set in, spaces opened up, and since they have quality players, they knew how to exploit them.
With this new format, as we’ve clearly seen, we’ve struggled this year, whether against Wolfsburg or Arsenal. These are teams that are improving, and of course, Barça is also a great club. So it’s up to us to work hard to come back stronger.

I think it’s a bit early to analyze the match. I believe we controlled the first half. In the second, they took control of the game and played as they pleased. After the first two goals, the complexion of the match inevitably changes. We have to attack to get back into it, and we lose the balance and control we had in the first half. There are many factors at play. At this level, a single goal can turn the whole match around.”
