To celebrate its first anniversary, OL Lyonnes is taking another step in its development with the launch of its official website www.ol-lyonnes.com and a season marked by a significant increase in attendance and the spectator experience.
Lyon, May 27, 2025 – One year after launching its brand identity, OL Lyonnes is reporting a very positive initial assessment of this pivotal season, marked by significant growth in its fan base, increased attendance, and the development of innovative spectator experiences. This new phase is accompanied today by a key moment in the club’s history: the official launch of its very first dedicated website, www.ol-lyonnes.com, developed with our partner DATASOLUTION.
Conceived as the club’s “digital home,” this new website symbolizes OL Lyonnes’ ambition to build a strong, modern, innovative, and independent women’s brand, capable of becoming a European benchmark both on and off the pitch.
Developed with a mobile-first approach and available in French and English, the site offers an immersive experience showcasing the players, the fans, and the entire OL Lyonnes ecosystem. It includes enhanced player pages, a Hall of Fame dedicated to the club’s history and achievements, an Academy section focused on the next generation, and a “Match Day” section designed to support fans on match days. Ticketing and the club shop are also directly integrated to streamline the fan experience.
This season has also confirmed the growing influence of the OL Lyonnes brand among the public. The club now boasts nearly 1.5 million followers across its social media platforms, with particularly strong growth on TikTok (+120%) and YouTube (+145%). Some content has now garnered over several million views, reflecting the club’s gradual integration into sporting and cultural conversations.
Beyond the pitch, OL Lyonnes is also asserting its ambition to become a key player in Lyon’s cultural and social landscape by offering unique experiences that extend beyond the traditional realm of women’s football.
This season, the club has launched numerous immersive and event-based initiatives to transform each match into a genuine moment of entertainment and shared experience. From roller disco parties at Groupama Stadium and giant karaoke to activations centered around music, lifestyle, and sports, OL Lyonnes aims to offer a popular, festive, and intergenerational experience capable of appealing to a much wider audience than the usual football fans. A diverse music festival will be held before, during, and after the match this Friday, May 29th, starting at 6:30 PM at Groupama Stadium.
The club has also strengthened its social commitment by organizing a series of conferences dedicated to women’s health and sport. Addressing key topics such as endometriosis, mental health (which will take place before the final match of the season on May 29 at Groupama Stadium), pregnancy in sport, and injuries among female athletes, OL Lyonnes aims to use its platform to advance societal debates and create spaces for dialogue between athletes, healthcare professionals, and the general public.
This initiative illustrates the club’s ambition to become a true forum for expression, awareness-raising, and community building around major issues affecting women and younger generations. Leveraging the unifying power of sport, OL Lyonnes seeks to build a model of a socially responsible club, connected to its local community and capable of having a lasting impact far beyond the world of football.
This desire to become an integral part of Lyon’s cultural life was also demonstrated by the organization of the first public screening of a match in Place des Terreaux, in partnership with the City of Lyon. This symbolic initiative reflects the growing role of OL Lyonnes in the city’s cultural and popular landscape.
Through these experiences and public statements, OL Lyonnes is pursuing a clear ambition: to establish the club as a strong cultural brand, capable of generating emotion, fostering social connection, and creating memorable experiences, while actively contributing to the influence of Lyon and women’s football.
These initiatives are also reflected in the stands. OL Lyonnes has recorded an average of 6,800 spectators this season, a 35% increase compared to the previous season. Some matches saw particularly significant increases, such as the derby against Saint-Étienne, which jumped from 1,694 to over 7,500 spectators (a 344% increase). The Play-Off semi-final also saw a 62% increase in attendance, while the match against Arsenal recorded one of the highest attendances of the season.
To continue this momentum, OL Lyonnes is also launching a new “Flex” season ticket package, allowing fans to attend eight matches, with some of the games chosen by the subscribers. This offer is designed to meet the evolving needs of sports entertainment and attract new audiences.
Finally, the club is continuing the development of its future campus dedicated to women’s performance in Meyzieu, presented as the first center of its kind in Europe, which will eventually house the professional teams, the Academy, and the club’s youth football program.
With this first year under the OL Lyonnes banner, the club confirms its ambition: to create a sporting, cultural, and social brand capable of making a lasting contribution to the development of women’s football in Europe.
