OL Lyonnes is delighted to announce that the contract of its defender, Elma Junttila Nelhage, has been extended for a further two seasons, until 30 June 2029.
A promising young talent in Swedish football, Elma Junttila Nelhage joined the club in January 2025 after playing for BK Häcken in her home country. Last season, she made 14 appearances at centre-back, 10 of which were as a starter, and played a part in Lyon’s treble, winning her first two French Cup and LFFP Cup before securing her second French League title following her first in 2025.
At 23, the left-footed player continues to develop and refine her defensive skills in order to cement her place in Jonatan Giraldez’s team. As she begins her second season under his guidance, the Swedish international is also making a real impact on the team’s attacking play.
The club is delighted with this latest contract extension, which follows those of Wassa Sangare, Julie Swierot and Maïssa Fatthalah – who have also extended their contracts with OL Lyonnes until 2029 – and which demonstrates the club’s commitment to building a strong and sustainable squad for the seasons ahead.
