As part of its commitment to promoting the values of sport, OL Lyonnes welcomed a group of middle school students from a football-focused sports program for an immersive day within the club. This initiative was part of a broader effort to strengthen local ties during Women’s Sport Week, alongside actions led by LFFP clubs to promote women’s football.
OL Lyonnes hosted a class of female students from a secondary school in the Lyon area for a special opportunity to engage with the club. The students took part in a Q&A session with professional players, followed by an autograph signing, photo opportunities, and a snack at Groupama Stadium, offering a privileged view of the pitch. To extend this immersive experience, OL Lyonnes invited the entire class to attend the LFFP Cup quarter-final match against Olympique de Marseille, scheduled for February 4. The aim of this initiative is to encourage the discovery of women’s sport, inspire young girls, and strengthen the connection between the club and its local community by allowing them to experience an official match up close with top-level women’s football players. The visit concluded with a tour of the training center, where the students discovered the Lyonnes’ facilities, including training pitches, the gym, and the medical room.
In addition, the club continues to highlight its players through its web series “A Day With,” featuring Melchie Dumornay and offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at her daily life, balancing sporting demands and life at the club.
Through these initiatives, OL Lyonnes reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the ties between professional football, youth, and the local community, while actively contributing to the promotion and transmission of the values of women’s football. For its part, the Ligue Féminine de Football Professionnel (LFFP) is also mobilizing to increase the visibility of women’s football as part of International Women’s Sports Day, extended by the “Sport Féminin toujours” campaign led by ARCOM over the course of a week. The involvement of Arkema Première Ligue clubs is fully aligned with the LFFP’s “Engagement and Territory” label, which aims to highlight clubs’ social and local initiatives.
