From the opening minutes of this Coupe de France final, our Lyonnes set an intense tempo against Paris Saint-Germain. Melchie Dumornay made an early impact in the 5th minute with a powerful volley from a corner, but her effort was blocked by a Paris defender. Moments later, the Lyonnes produced a superb team move involving Vicki Becho, Melchie Dumornay, and Marie-Antoinette Katoto. Played through inside the box, the French international saw her shot denied by Mary Earps.
After several Lyon attacks, the breakthrough finally came in the 23rd minute. Melchie Dumornay produced a brilliant solo run, beating several PSG defenders before slipping the ball through Mary Earps’ legs to score the opening goal of the final (23’, 0-1).
Dominant throughout, the Lyonnes continued to press and doubled their lead in the 35th minute. Lindsey Heaps first produced a wonderful piece of skill to release Jule Brand down the left side. The German then delivered a precise cross toward Vicki Becho, whose header bounced off the crossbar and over the line (35’, 0-2).
Five minutes later, the Lyonnes once again showcased their attacking efficiency. Played in down the wing, Jule Brand delivered another perfect cross for Vicki Becho, who finished superbly to score a third goal and give Lyon a commanding lead before halftime (40’, 0-3).
After the break, Paris Saint-Germain attempted to respond and managed to reduce the deficit in the 63rd minute through Kanjinga (63’, 1-3).
Three minutes later, the Lyon coaching staff made a double substitution, with Lily Yohannes and Marie-Antoinette Katoto making way for Damaris Egurrola and Korbin Shrader. Lyon quickly regained control of the match and were rewarded in the 74th minute. From a perfectly taken free kick by Selma Bacha, Lindsey Heaps connected with the ball to score Lyon’s fourth goal and restore their comfortable advantage (74’, 1-4).
PSG then tried to get back into the game, but Christiane Endler came up with a superb save in the 77th minute during a Paris counterattack. A few minutes later, Jonatan Giráldez made another substitution, bringing on Tarciane in place of Vicki Becho.
In the closing stages, OL Lyonnes managed their lead perfectly. In the 86th minute, two more substitutions followed, with Ingrid Engen and Melchie Dumornay replaced by Sofie Svava and Alice Sombath, allowing OL Lyonnes to comfortably see out the final and claim the club’s 11th Coupe de France title.
