OL Lyonnes is delighted to announce the signing of Spanish forward Salma Paralluelo on a four-year contract. The 22 year-old joins the club until June 30th 2030.
At just 22 years old, Salma Paralluelo has chosen the OL Lyonnes project for the first move of her career outside her native Spain. Born in Zaragoza, in Spain, the forward came through the ranks at her hometown club before making her debut in the Primera Federación FutFem (Spain’s second division) at the age of 15. Alongside her football development, Salma also excelled in athletics, winning numerous national and European titles from U14 to U20 level. Determined to pursue both passions, she continued to combine football and athletics while playing for Villarreal CF, where she first emerged as one of Spain’s brightest young talents.
It was only after joining FC Barcelona in 2022 that Salma decided to dedicate herself fully to football. That decision proved to be a major turning point in her career, allowing her to reach new heights both at club and international level. The same year, she won the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with Spain, adding a second world title to the one she had claimed with the U17 national team in 2018. In her very first season wearing the Blaugrana colours, she helped Barcelona lift both the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the Liga F title (2023), quickly establishing herself as one of world football’s brightest stars.
In 2023, Salma Paralluelo became a FIFA Women’s World Cup champion with Spain, making history as the first player ever to win Women’s World Cups across three different age categories. Her outstanding performances throughout the tournament also earned her the FIFA Women’s World Cup Best Young Player Award.
As she continued to establish herself among the elite, Salma maintained her remarkable winning streak and secured another historic quadruple in 2024 with FC Barcelona, lifting the UEFA Women’s Champions League, Liga F, the Copa de la Reina and the Spanish Super Cup, before adding the UEFA Women’s Nations League title with Spain. Her consistency for both club and country saw her finish third in the Ballon d’Or Féminin rankings for two consecutive years, in 2023 and again in 2024.
During her time at FC Barcelona, Salma made 131 appearances and scored 72 goals in all competitions. She leaves the Catalan club having won 15 major trophies, including three UEFA Women’s Champions League titles.
Despite interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, Salma Paralluelo has chosen to join the OL Lyonnes project as she embarks on an exciting new chapter in her career and continues her development at the highest level. OL Lyonnes is thrilled to welcome one of the world’s finest attacking talents, following the arrivals of Caroline Weir, Maria Luisa Grohs and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd. Her signing further strengthens Jonatan Giráldez’s squad and once again underlines OL Lyonnes’ lofty ambitions for the seasons ahead.
The club’s new signings will join their Lyon teammates for the resumption of training on Monday 27 July and will be officially presented to supporters and the media on Friday 31 July 2026.
