Lily Yohannes has had a superb first season with OL Lyonnes and has quickly established herself in the squad. Voted Breakthrough Player of the 2025–2026 season in the UWCL, she is in the running for the Kopa Trophy for Best Young Player of the Year 2025–2026.

Lily Yohannes joined OL Lyonnes in July 2025 when she was just 18 years old. She has put her talent to good use for the team. She quickly settled into Jonatan Giráldez’s squad, making her first start on the opening day of the Arkema Première Ligue against Marseille. After a remarkable debut season, the midfielder played in 36 of the 41 matches in the 2025–2026 season, proving decisive on numerous occasions.
4 FINALS
At just 19 years old, Lily Yohannes featured in all four finals contested by the Lyon club during the 2025–2026 season. Indeed, the midfielder was selected by the manager for the Women’s Champions League final, the Arkema Première Ligue final and the Coupe de France final. She also came on as a substitute against PSG in the final of the inaugural LFFP Cup.

Lily had a decisive first season in midfield, scoring six goals across all competitions! She found the net four times in the Arkema Première Ligue, notably during her first start against Marseille. The young player also made her mark in Europe on two occasions: on matchday two of the group stage with a 40-metre strike that lobbed the St. Pölten goalkeeper; and then in the quarter-final second leg against Wolfsburg.

A goalscorer as well as a playmaker, the American provided nine assists across all competitions during the 2025–2026 season. Six of these came in the French league, notably in the play-off final against Paris FC. One of her assists came in the LFFP Cup quarter-final against Le Havre. Finally, in the first leg of the UWCL semi-final against Arsenal, Jule Brand opened the scoring thanks to a fine pass from Lily Yohannes.
